    On November 15, 2018, Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur organised a formal reception commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Poland's Regaining Independence at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur Hotel. Mr. Chong Chieng Jen, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs of Malaysia was the Guest of Honour.

    Nearly 300 people took part at the reception. Among the guests were the representatives of the Malaysian administration, army, local diplomatic corps, business, culture, science and Polish nationals living in Malaysia.


    In his speech, the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Malaysia, Mr. Krzysztof Dębnicki, pointed out the similarities between the historical facts of Poland and Malaysia. He stressed the difficult path that Poland had to go through to become a significant and independent country, especially over the last 30 years. He also drew attention to the growing importance of Malaysia and the ASEAN region in Polish foreign policies, particularly in the matter of trade, investment, political and scientific cooperation.

    At the reception, the Embassy of Poland made it possible for Polish entrepreneurs offering their services on the Malaysian market to have their representations. Comarch and WB Electronics benefited from the offer. The company WB Electronics especially for this occasion brought the FlyEye drone, which was displayed in the hotel foyer.

    The attraction during the national day reception was the Tatar dishes prepared on an ongoing basis by Polish chefs: Marcin Budynek and Mariusz Olechno, who came to Malaysia for the “Tatar Culture Festival" organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur.
